Marital Counseling

Prepare for a new adventure.

Relationships take work. Pre-marital counseling can help you to feel more confident going into your relationship as a married couple no matter what you've already been through. Whether you've been together for six months or six years, counseling allows you to recognize your and your partner's strengths and builds on opportunities for growth in communication and understanding.

Marital counseling isn't just for soon-to-be newlyweds, nor is it solely for married couples going voyaging through troubled waters. Using the Prepare/Enrich counseling program, I am trained and equipped to provide you with resources to explore your strengths, identify how you can grow as a couple, and build on communication skills and relationship goals.

How do we get started?

Contact me to set up a free initial meeting where we can get to know each other, and to see if you think I will be a good fit for you as a couple. If you decide to proceed, I will send you links to take individualized online assessments. After you've completed your assessments, I will meet with you as a couple for 3 sessions to go over the results, analyze insights, and implement skill building and goal setting based on your individualized results as a couple.

Do you need to be our officiant to do this?

Nope! If you have another officiant in mind, I am happy to work with you as a couple. Consider this a complement to your wedding planning.

We're already married, but this seems like it would be helpful now. Can we still sign up for counseling?

Absolutely. The Prepare/Enrich program is designed for all types of couples from dating and cohabitating, to engaged, married, or couples celebrating decades of marriage. If you're thinking about renewing your vows or celebrating a blessing of your union, the assessment and follow-up sessions will provide a helpful resource to support those renewed intentions.

I am not a licensed therapist or counselor, but I do have training in mediation and spiritual care. I am trained to conduct an assessment and facilitate analysis using the Prepare/Enrich model, however, if you are a couple that requires professional counseling, please seek that. If in our analysis and follow-up sessions we discover that perhaps this would be beneficial to you, I can assist you in finding a professional licensed counselor or therapist to aid you as a resource in your relationship.
